Another author told me that readers enjoy learning a little bit about a writer’s daily life. This probably isn’t a good time to blog about what’s happening in my life. I’m suffering from a streak of bad luck.
On August 13 (Friday), I was involved in an auto accident. Thankfully, no one was hurt. My darling little car took the blow for us. He ended up in shop for 6 weeks after being struck by an SUV. During all that time, I was involved in a pitched battle with the insurance company.
In June, I moved into a lovely condo in the Medical Center in Houston. The property is near where I work, and I was delighted with the custom paint, marble floors and beautiful, red piano room with bay window and hardwood floors. I bought rugs, a new sofa and three prints of Charleston’s Battery. October 1, a neighbor had a water leak and damaged my kitchen cabinets. I had to vacate due to mold, and the Association is dragging their feet starting the repairs.
And the real heartbreaker: A week ago, an agent who’d been working with me on a submission, giving pointers and saying she loved the premise, rejected I, Lucifer, my book about a fallen angel. I am seriously bummed about that.
On the bright side, my erotic novella, Hot Spanish Nights, released October 29 from The Wild Rose Press, The Wilder Roses. I can’t believe more than a week has already passed. I’ve been trying to think of other ways to promote.
Other than that I went to a polo match on Sunday and had a really good time. Fall has finally come to Houston.
Happy Hols in the offing!!!
