Hello everyone!! Thanks so much to Bianca for letting me stop by today and share my work with you all. Usually when I guest blog I like to tell a little story about something that has inspired me. Last time I guest blogged I told a story about how irritated I was with my husband and his stinking hunting dogs J fortunately for you all I’m over that rant. But I’ve moved on to a new one.
Two weeks ago I started my last book in my Built Cowgirl Tough series which will lead into my Wicked Cowboy series. I’ve also got about 24k of a rewrite on my first paranormal going on too. I’ve had HUGE computer issues, which I will share that rant on another day. I’ve been trying really hard to write but so much real life junk has been going on that I haven’t written in a week! Arch, I feel so guilty, but I had a plan!
Last Saturday was opening season of gun season here in Alabama. YAY! This means I would have a day to write! My kids were geared up to play outside with our dogs all day while I wrote. Let me just say, I was totally excited about this. And then…my brother happened!! ARGH!
My mother is an agriculture teacher who, to raise money for her program, sells sweet potatoes each Thanksgiving. Her students sold 340 bags of 20lb bags of potatoes this year. I get a phone call from my mom saying that my brother can’t make it to help her so I need to. I say a great number of cuss words that I’m sure my five year old will inform her class about today, but I couldn’t help it. Helping my mom get those potatoes meant me driving the truck and trailer, me loading and stacking the 360(yeah just for giggles she added 20 more bags) 20lb bags, and then me unloading said bags at her school.
My writing Saturday was shot to hell! Why? Because of my bratty brother! I’m the baby of the family but I swear my oldest brother is the real baby! He has to have things his way or else! Can you all tell that I’m still mad?
So while my poor characters were left in the dark while I was sweating and cussing my family and the cell phone towers which had not blown up after I silently prayed for them to so my mom couldn’t call me. Is it just my family that completely blows my blood pressure cap? Nope my in laws do it too sometimes. But for today let’s just stick with brothers and mothers. If you have one of the two or a sister let me know what yours do to annoy you?
But while you’re taking a break from those in laws, asshat brothers, and crazy family this holiday season check out my latest release, The Harder They Buck.
CAUTION: This book contains the use of whips, ropes, and handcuffs by one sexy cowboy looking to win the ride of his life.
Raised by parents who don’t believe in affection, Melanie Brantley developed a hard-edged outlook on life…and love. But then along comes a cowboy who makes her blood boil, and not only with anger. A fact that scares the hell out of her. Enough that she seeks solace at Minx, a club that caters to the more carnal pleasures.
After recovering from a bull ride gone wrong, Lance Wright is ready to move forward and he’s set his sights on Melanie. Her temper tells him all he needs to know about the passion he’d find in her bed. The wildcat fights him every step of the way, but she’s in for a surprise. The harder Melanie bucks, the more Lance wants to ride.
A Taste to Wet Your Appetite:
The alarm on Melanie’s cell phone vibrated, thank god. She’d stayed the hour and a half she’d promised. Time to get the heck outta here.
“Someone important?” Lance’s low voice whispered behind her.
She’d been just about to run for the hills. “Kinda. What do you want?”
She turned and stared at him. His deep brown hair was half hidden under his black cowboy hat, and his long sleeved orange and white plaid shirt stood out in a sea of red and green shirts. His eyes danced with mischief, and she fought not to dance with them. One thing she did love was a guy to play with, and Lance was always ready to play.
“I’m glad you invited your sister up for the holidays. She’s nice. I was worried when Billie said she was coming up. It’s hard enough around here with you, but I sure didn’t need another woman threatening me with bodily harm.”
“Leave my baby sister alone,” she nearly growled.
“Can’t do that–unless you’d like to take her place. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings a bit if you’d hold off on hurting me to go out with me, at least once.” He leaned close, his spicy cologne filling her nose and setting her on path to sure destruction. “All that passion you have, I can help you put it to good use.” He nipped her ear.
She’d always heard the line between love and hate was thinly veiled, and standing so close to Lance, feeling his body heat against hers, she knew it was the truth.
Ok, boys and girls leave me a comment telling me all about the things your family does which irritate you. The commenter who beats my family’s annoyance level wins their choice of either Riding Double (1st book in my series) or The Harder They Buck. Thanks again to Bianca for letting me stop by!
